The influence of Cyclone Arnab continued to be felt across Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, with districts witnessing heavy to light rainfall accompanied by gusty winds as the weakened cyclonic system moved further inland.
Several parts of the state reported overcast skies, intermittent rain and strong winds, leading to waterlogging in low-lying areas and disruptions to daily activities. The weather system, which made landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast earlier, has weakened considerably but continues to carry significant moisture into central India.
Weather conditions varied across districts, with some regions receiving heavy spells of rain while others experienced light to moderate showers. Gusty winds added to the impact, prompting authorities to keep emergency response teams and civic agencies on alert.
The rainfall has brought relief to farmers and improved soil moisture levels in agricultural regions. However, officials are monitoring areas vulnerable to waterlogging and localised flooding, particularly where continuous rainfall persists.
Residents have been advised to remain cautious during periods of intense rain and strong winds and to follow weather advisories issued by local authorities.
